I've never done anything like that. Would I just download it to a flash drive, plug it in, and run it like...on top of windows? Or what?

Once you have the OS installed as a boot onto the flash drive (google making a boot flash drive using Linux) you would plug it into your computer, restart and then push whatever F-Key your computer prompts you for on startup to enter "set up" and then select "Boot from USB".

If you click on a HIT as if to accept, then click on the requester's name, it brings up a pop up window with contact requester as one of the options. Sorry not awake enough to screen capture.
