So dumb question for you (or anyone) - does brand matter much when picking out a laptop? Or does it really come down to the individual components?
If you're looking to turk on a laptop - you really want a performance laptop. You want one with a decent amount of RAM and a great CPU <both of these help with speed (web pages loading, closing, shifting between tabs, etc). I prefer HP, and they always have some great deals - there's a few under $400 right now. We have been buying from them for the past 8ish yrs now. Their warranties are great as well :) Good luck finding a lappy!

They're just loaded with crap, I spent 2 hours removing shit from one my girlfriends mom bought.
I mean, most of them have all their crap they stuff on them. I know Dell does too. I don't typically buy brand new so it's always been wiped and doesn't have all the crap to remove.

That's helpful, like why does every computer have Mcafee on it? that is a terrible program.

It was worse back in the stone age, I lost a computer to Norton Extraction. Bought at BB, they tried to help, screwed it up even more, refunded my money and I never looked back.

My husband builds computers and keeps me in desktops (which is a good thing because I have no idea what I'm doing with that kind of stuff). Laptops are nice when you're spending long weekends at your in-laws :)
I would love a desktop, but my kid wouldn't leave the screen alone. Laptops are safer in my house lol

Lol seriously. The worst program to uninstall too.

Build a desktop, f**k laptops.
I don't build but the one I bought that was custom built itself would probably run 1000 if it was a name brand with monitor and shit. I already had all the rest laying around, so I typically just buy custom towers. Get amazing specs for cheap prices because all the other crap is already laying around.

the 2 times I left Norton on a computer it screwed up the whole thing and it was a long process to fix it. I uninstall it straight out of the box now.
