Did anyone else get an email from Prolific? It's titled "
Action required: We need your permission to keep in touch."
It goes on about privacy policy and terms and conditions. Now, I'm very skeptical.
a ton of sites have been sending stuff like that because of some EU privacy law

Yes. It's legit. Just log into your prolific account the normal way.

Ever since the Facebook stuff, almost every site I'm on has sent out one of these. Think I just got another one from another site this morning.

Sure that's fair, but I was not the person who originally posted the article. I do admit that I did however continue posting about politics. I also see that this thread is under "Daily Work Threads" but it seems to also be a general forum to speak about many things as I've seen in the past. I looked through the forum rules and I haven't found anything pertaining to this, however I would love to read them if you could link them to me please. Thank you.

Quick edit: For example in this worker's thread there are multiple posts about how many sexual partners you've had and how it compares to others in your age group. Does that also not belong in social discussion? All I'm trying to say is, if there are rules and they're only being enforced whether we like the discussion being here or not, then how is it fair for me to know whether or not a discussion belongs here or not?
For me..if it's anything political related I stay clear of it in this thread. One mention and it all goes crazy.

Isn't that all subjective though? But sure, I'll stop replying to this now as it seems to be going nowhere.
Some things ALWAYS piss people off, politics, religion, etc. That's common knowledge. If there's a thread for it, then there's a thread for it. Like, it already exists, no reason to lament over its existence.

Curious has survey comet done the forecast HITS this week?
They posted a few on Monday, I thought. I qualified for it (which was a surprise, because I started the round late in the week and usually qualify on Thursdays).
I couldn't do it because I had to go get my daughter and thought I'd just pick it up later.
But it was gone. I was going to email them at some point today or tomorrow to see what was up.

I think it's funny how many of us are waiting for those HITs to pop up like ravenous beasts. Haha.

That's not really fair though. If you have rules that no off-discussion can occur in this thread then why is it allowed to occur? The two you mentioned don't always piss me off. I don't see anyone in this thread that was being overtly rude or negative. Either have rules and follow them or don't have them at all. A bit unfair for users, especially newer ones that haven't been around here long.

CJ's turk tips #455: If you are trying to get people off your batch it's a smart idea to subtly start a political debate.

No one is in trouble, I think you (general you, not you specific) were just herded toward the dedicated Politics thread. That's one of the ones that we're more strict on because Politics discussions hardly ever end well.

I haven't been following this thread carefully -- so I'm sure I'll miss something (sorry). But, here goes: there is a politics thread. Politics should always go there.
The partners thing, I posted, but there wasn't much back and forth about it......and - despite that - I think I saw Jaded @Jaded post a gentle reminder to stay off that topic :). That's primarily how these things go. There will be gentle reminders (and then not so gentle ones)

In general, when it's slow, people do post things and sometimes the conversation gets slightly derailed. But this is a work thread. And this is prime work time, so most of what you should see here should be work related.

Politics should never really get on the main thread (it's just too divisive). Post that in the politics thread, if you want a discussion :).

Edit: okay, I knew that would happen. I posted late.......

I think it's time to just drop it. I'm stepping out of the thread for a while. Geesh.

Bruh, I'm not attacking you or anything, I just gave you one sentence to help you. NO ONE was attacking you. Dude just said that there was a thread for politics.
It always goes south. Even when it shouldn't. No one is fighting with you, calm down.
