I was really hoping that when I fell back asleep the baked beans one would continue because I wanted to know how my dream-self would react. Sadly it didn't.

sometimes if I'm in public and there are lots of people I get so nervous that I kind of forget how to walk normally so it feels like I'm walking like a newborn giraffe or something
i.ve had that, it's some form of anxiety i believe or social disorder, thing is I am very outgoing and not afraid to be around a crowd of people or even perform, but sometimes I get to feeling awkward when walking or standing around in a crowd.

I have a panic disorder and being in public and/or a crowd is a huge trigger for it. I always wonder if I actually am walking weird when that happens or if it's just in my head, but I feel too awkward to ask whatever person I'm with.

You are now breathing manually.
That is scary as hell. That happened to me once. My involuntary breathing mechanism shut down and I was on manual. I thought I was going to die if I passed out but, when you breathe manually, you over do it, out of fear.( I think you only need 6 per minute-ish) So you get light headed and want to pass out. But, if you pass out, how the heck are you gonna breathe?! Needless to say, I was begging them to put me "fully out", coma style, and stuff a tube down my neck. Because when your involuntary breathing response shuts down, you don't feel like you've gotten any air, at all. It makes you want to yawn every other second but, you also can't reach that spot in a yawn that says it's "over". Omg. It was hell. They thought I was going to stroke out from the panic, combined with the side-effects I was getting from the drugs I was prescribed.

Fun times.

just wear a t-shirt that says "If I'm walking funny. please tell me" but make sure the t-shirt is not too tight :p

wait, that can actually happen? I thought he was just talking about being hyper-aware of his breathing (which happens to me sometimes, but as soon as I stop paying attention to it I start breathing normally again). I didn't realize you could actually stop breathing involuntarily like that though

Every time I've asked who I was with they said it's all in my head.

That's always the worst, my brain never cooperates when I try and get back in dreams.

I was really hoping that when I fell back asleep the baked beans one would continue because I wanted to know how my dream-self would react. Sadly it didn't.
Years ago I had this dream that wouldn't go away. It occurred on what seemed like a nightly basis. My mother, who had been dead for some years and a very evil person, was screaming at me from her grave that she was alive and I had to rescue her. This drama continued nightly. Finally in the dream I got my father and son and anyone else important to her and told them what was happening and we had to dig up her grave. The local cops were there too. So we did. And yes, she was alive. Know what happened? The hateful woman continued to haunt my nightly dreams for nights after that. Only now she was free. Then one night in a dream she said she was tired and ready to go back so she died and we reburied her. Though that evil still creeps through my nights occasionally so I don't know how successful we were. And these were not just dreams. We had whole scenarios going on within the family through each of my dreams. Probably give some psychology student a great study for their doctorate.

I don't think it can just "happen" but, mine was a side-effect of medication. Near-fatal retardation of respiration. Something interferes with the signals between your brain and your lungs.
