Most of what is polluting it is human remains. The funeral pyres haven't gone out in hundreds of years. When you are performing a religious ritual, given to you by God, in the place that he told you to, in the way he told you to, in one of his rivers, you don't consider it polluting. Add that to the fact that it's the only source of water for TONs of people. So, they use it for everything. Bathing and bathroom breaks being high on the list. But, you use what you have available. It's not so much a pollution issue but, a poverty and population explosion issue.

How is everyone's day going? I've been on Reddit the past couple of days almost exclusively teaching people how to use MTS. Lots of folks over there not using scripts or extensions and not understanding why they aren't making $1k/month.

Problems like that usually work themselves out. Population explodes, river gets dirty, people get sick and die, less people around, river cleans up, people come back. Wash with dirty water, rinse, repeat.

It's the same with most everything in nature. Actually the problem could be technology. Because we can clean rivers more, people don't get sick, too many people. Or river gets dirty, people get sick, modern medicine saves people, people go back to shitting in the river.

But, this is a convo for the middle of the night, when I'm not working.

As much as I hate to say it, you guys have a good point.

Here's the thing. I took one dude "under my wing" to teach him how to use MTS. He really just can't get it, so I wouldn't worry about it. Apparently, the average redditor doesn't have the necessary skill to use MTurk efficiently enough to maintain his attention and interest. You guys are right. It's probably for the best. I had to figure it out mostly by myself. It wasn't too tough. One of these days I'm going to sit down and figure out PC all the way.

Anyway, I was joking. I've never had much trouble catching HITs and definitely am not one to complain about it. I also don't think that you are going to sway things one way or the other. People on reddit can't maintain their interest or attention on MTurk because they're on reddit. I would say that if you have someone that you really like on there, and want to help, drag them over here and we'll all help them. I've been doing this for years and have looked at that subreddit exactly twice. Saw absolutely no benefit.
