Yuppies? Hm. Maybe in Silicon Valley But not so many really.

Forest fires we do have. Tons. The air effing sucks here right now. And my pool is constantly cleaning ash out of the water.

However, we have beaches, skiing (water and snow), San Francisco, Hollywood (good for a day visit), Disneyland, all the fresh fruit and vegetables you could ever want and mostly for free as they grows like weed here and it's not uncommon to come home and find some random neighbor has left a bag of zucchini on your porch, and I can drive to at least 40 awesome places in under four hours.

I kinda love this state.

Oh, I know. My BFF lives in San Diego and I live near NYC. We have this convo at least once a year when one of us tries to convince the other to move. I throw earthquakes and forest fires at her, she throws hurricanes and Bennies (people who vacation on the shore) at me. We settle for visits

I feel much less like a wimp now that you've said that. I also learned that the boots I had, while warm, had soles that were vastly too thin to be of much protection against the deathly cold sidewalks. I had to double up socks lol.

I also learned there I'm great at catching cabs. My (now) ex would just push me out towards traffic and tell me to yell for one. They always stopped for me, never for him, lol.
