Just spent 20 minutes on the phone with a headhunter about a position I had already emailed her about, and told her I wasn't the right fit. After 20 minutes, she basically gave me the "Don't call me, I'll call you" line.

But seriously, I try to post hits here. But I try to post quality hits which have been in short supply it seems. Also, I'm a non masters pleb.

Edit: I'm also never going to be good at this or put in the amount of effort that others do. I feel like letting someone else help is better for the new turkers/members.

To put it in perspective, once of the Turkers who has been very active in making their own auto-accept script is SalemBeats. He's had some degree of success writing the script, but he's currently working/living in an RV is some little RV park in Oregon. His internet connection is likely via the park's shared WiFi... unless he's able to afford Satellite or a fast data connection via a cellular provider (both are highly unlikely do to the cost). So most of us are probably out-competing him for HITs on the regular.

Auto-accept scripts on a crappy internet connection can't compete with standard HIT-grabbing practices and a good internet connection.

I avoided TurkerView for the longest time and I was stupid for doing so. It's great.

I love it, and found the information far more reliable. I went to it because of people messing with TO and never knowing if a hit was really bad or not. I think we should always be trying to get as much information about the platform as possible.

I get that people like the feel of a certain forum more. I feel more at home here, more comfortable with the people etc... But when people are new or trying to really grasp Mturk for the first time or after years of doing poorly, we tell them to Google the answer, try to help yourself etc.... And part of that is having other forums and resources become available to them. It would be silly not to use every possible resource you can to make yourself a more efficient worker.

I'm glad you see the benefit of TV as well. And I certainly hope all of this blows over and people just go back to trying to lift one another. TH is helpful to me as I have many Alegion quals and they are very communicative over there, if I go days without a visit I can miss another qual. Here I gain things I can't there. We can all get along!
