Oh, no, I wish, thank you though. Just going back to finish. Only a couple classes away from an AA in Arts & Humanities (the general kind), then I want to get a real AA in film. Useful, I know, lol. But both will help on the way to maybe getting a BA eventually. Even a paper saying you have just an AA seems extremely useful now days.
Keep going! If you're going to have to pay for that film AA, though...well, as someone with two film/media degrees (and the student loans to go with), might I suggest taking advantage of free online film courses instead? If coursework/credit hours towards a BA is the overarching goal, perhaps one or more colleges in your area might have tuition-covered programs. I know here there are grants and scholarships for pursuing an AA in certain high-demand fields.

These are really cool, thank you! So, this is very neat. A fellow film person. Do you make films or work on crews? What are some of the films or shows that inspired you?

Oh yeah, very nice. It reminds me of some of my favorite, classic books when I was a child.

:D My interest was in research/analysis of media texts, for which the standard career path is a PhD and...not much else. Whoops...

The last thing I want to do is discourage anyone from following their own goals, and film production is a different beast than film studies. My higher-education experience simply taught me that for some academic programs, institutions will pay for your education costs, so why not let them? I would still look real hard in your area to see if there are any grant programs going, or perhaps if there is any film or TV production you can get in on in some sort of PA-type role, before paying for it yourself.

Michele @Michele I didn't know you were working on an AA. I don't know how you feel about Fine Arts but, if you have any interest, "Britain's Lost Masterpieces" is a show you may like a lot. It's about how there are a bunch of paintings, and other art like sculpture, in the storerooms and basements of galleries, museums and estates, that are unattributed or mis-attributed. Each episode they visit one location, choose a piece, and then they research it. There are 2 presenters. One of them works out the history and provenance, the other is more of a hands-on person. He works with restorers to get them cleaned up and repaired, while removing any mess that was added after the fact, to cover damage or whatever other reason. It's really neat to see them cleaned up, and how bright they are after. The old varnish is usually pretty yellowed. Then, at the end, they have a reveal, where they correct and verify/certify the attribution, and sometimes the subject, if it was in contention. Anyway, check it out. See PM.:)
