My great grandfather was there, but my grandfather was a miner in a reserved profession. Every time he tried to sign up to fight in WWII, then sent him home to mine. My other grandfather was Irish and in a truly neutral country style, came over to Britain to work as a carpenter throughout the war. WWI is my dad's passion, WWII is hubby's.WWI is a WHOLE different ball game then II, so I've never gotten into it. (But I should, so maybe I will.) I did, however, have a Grand Father that took part. I think the only war my family missed out on was Korea.
