Well today sucks.

But on the upside, I had delicious chili mac for dinner.
Delicious. On that note.

someone has to say it, your parents are assholes

IDK about all that, I love watching my sister in laws little kids, except when she springs it on me. I can't handle breaks in my schedules and that's not really me being an asshole that's just me being weird. I also don't like it when my room isn't clean and people just show up with tiny screaming babies and I've got colored pencils and marshmallows all over the room. kids love both of those and I don't like sharing them.

I have friends that take dd for the night  (and then we take theirs). It's a big help - especially when she was younger (really saved me). I've never had to pay for a babysitter :).
hell on the weekends we often times have all of them (well 3 live here anyway). I got NO say in the matter, and have been firmly told to stfu about it.

Why can't you just do both? You can be a asshole and still wrestle life curveballs that get thrown at you. It a part of the american spirit.

while its slow I just want to say how much 'alt-d, alt-enter' has made it easier to do ocmp75's. turn one hits assigned tab into 25 in like 10 seconds. Then, using the shift key to highlight all of them so i can reload them all at once, mute all of them at once, etc.

all i wanted to do was find out how to copy a tab and those two nuggets fell into my lap.

Agreed. And unless it's an emergency, I'd never just "dump" my kids on my mom - like someone's in the hospital, etc.... but I do regularly ask her to keep them on a Saturday night and she's happy to have them. She usually sends them back home after giving them a good breakfast in the morning. And then on random weeknights my youngest will sometimes ask to spend the night with her or she'll just offer. Luckily, she lives on our property so it's convenient for everyone.

Sounds like my husband's mom but she is a total pushover. Her kids always dump the grandkids on her so she always has 3-4 kids with her (1 lives with her because she adopted him). So we can't ever ask her to watch our kids because the house is always rampant with other shitty kids.

My 13 yo is almost there. He's not quite equipped with the patience to handle the 6yo autistic one yet, though. If there's a meltdown, there's a 50/50 chance it'll go south if I'm not there. He's getting there. I will leave them for short periods of time - 30 min or less.

I wouldn't mind it so much, if they wasn't all like me and wanting to fucking fight all the time, Jesus. One took a pencil and stabbed her sister with it just last week, no permanent damage but gawd damn

You are lucky or blessed, depending on your point of view. Enjoy, I know the kids are!
