I feel ya on this. I'm pretending I'm not in a complete panic over the amount of gifts I have to buy. We have 7 nieces & nephews 3 of which have a birthday in December. :nailbiting:
Ouch....our family is so big we can't buy for everyone. Thought I had one of the daughters taken care of, ordered her these expensive shoes that she was so excited for, then get an email saying they are out of stock the next day. Now she's pissed and doesn't want anything. Gift card it is, little brat!

What should I even be looking for in desktop that I'll mainly use for turking? My laptop has seen better days and I know it will make me more productive, I just don't know a whole lot about computers. Asked my uncle, he says build one that fits my needs... right. :facepalm2:

Taking off for Thanksgiving until Monday really messed me up. I've been lazy, only made like 60 bucks so far this week, but I've spent over 300. And not on Christmas gifts that I still have to buy. Definitely failing on returning to routine.
Ohh yes. I did the math last night on how much xmas is going to cost us at $25 per gift per niece/nephew, and it's something like $215 left of gifts to buy for kids. Not including student loans due this month, or the something like 4 kid birthdays that we've got either in early January or mid Dec. Taking off as much time as I did last week, and not really doing much earlier this week, is going to be a pig pain in the b-hole.

For the kids older than 6 we get them a gift card for Christmas. It's only a measly $10 and some candy but that's better than nothing and it's better than hearing comments about a gift they hate that I spent 4 hours shopping for. It sucks, but with so many to buy for we're stretched thin. :(

Do you run PANDA on a separate client or would you use it for both?

Same. :dead: There's no more "fat" we could cut either, my husband and I already aren't getting each other anything at all.

Literally what I'd say is "build one that fits your needs" lol. But seriously though, do you have anyone who builds PCs? Normally what my husband does is picks out stuff on "PC Part Picker" and then order it and he'll put it all together. That way you can upgrade pieces of the computer instead of sacking the whole thing every year. He says the oldest part in my computer is 2011, newest part is 2018.

edit: He added "Plus it cost less than the cheap ones that you cycle through quickly over that time frame, plus how fast technology is moving now, it just makes sense." but he knows how to do it, so it's easy for him to say!

Same. :dead: There's no more "fat" we could cut either, my husband and I already aren't getting each other anything at all.
I accidentally clicked "buy now" on an InstantPot on Monday so that's our xmas gift to each other lmao

It would probably be for both. Or I'd run panda on it and work off my laptop. Right now I just use the laptop and an extra screen usually.

My uncle does. But, he just isn't the greatest at communication and lives an hour away. He said its easy and I could do it (I'm a tinkerer, I've torn my laptop apart and replaced a few things, repaired many phones, he must have lots of confidence in my youtube skills) I just don't know.

Are you looking for something low budget with long term usability or just something cheap to get you through a year?
