Sometimes they send the email before assigning quals, but sometimes they just send the email to everyone who has worked for them. You should send them a politely worded email about the subject, inquiring as to whether the initial email was sent to you in error, or not.

Thye probably mass emailed and forgot to take unqualified people off the list. or they haven't assigned the qual yet, or (which sometimes happens) you qual for one part, but maybe not another (you have a survey qual but they also applied hits greater than 6 million) or something silly like that.


EDIT: Or like all the other reasons posted.

Definitely okay to ask questions!

That happens quite a bit when a requester sends out maybe 100 emails to previous workers but only posts maybe 50 HITs.
