I have finally cracked 500 HITs after 3 weeks of turking! Hopefully it will be easier to get to my $10 a day goal

You will get there. Just be persistent and keep at it. MTurk has a big learning curve, but it accelerates and gets easier as you move along. Get on the forum and soak it all in. Lots to learn.
