So my tax lady told me to call her at the beginning of May so we could figure out what my estimated quarterly tax payment for June should be. I just got off the phone with her. $700 for state and $2200 for federal. I'm new to this estimated quarterly game but i wasn't expecting it to be that much.

Did you pay estimated taxes in April? Or is $2200 just for the 2nd quarter?

I did but she only told me to pay $130 to federal. So yeah i'm having to make up for not paying as much in the first quarter. I guess she didn't expect me to make near this much lol.

Nevermind, I assumed you paid this much in Q1.

That makes more sense. If it was 2200 for just the quarter, that would be crazy.

Is this all from mturk? That's a good amount to be paying so congrats for making the money to be paying taxes. A gift and a curse!

Thankfully TX, has no state income tax, so I save a bit there but I'm also not making 8200 in four months, I'm only at 4k.

She probably multiplying that by 4 for all quarters. Just turn in your earning in time every quarter with the amount in mind saved and pay what she tells you to pay at that point.

Texas makes up for that "no state tax" with those high sales taxes. And real estate taxes.
