If you say so, lol. Some days it can be a nightmare getting past $20, then doing it again before a break(6-8 hours on a Sunday). I just couldn't imagine a reason why I'd take a break at an arbitrary time like at an hourly job, like every 3 hours, when there may be a 3 hour stretch where I make nearly nothing. I take a break because I've worked a certain amount not because the clock tells me to. The clock keeps ticking regardless of what I'm doing, making it too non-responsive for me to base any decisions on. But, when you don't make a consistent hourly pay and don't do a specific amount of work in any given time period, basing breaks on time seems not to make sense because, on a very slow day, I could end up taking a break after minimal actual effort and little to no pay. I couldn't justify that. Then I'd just watch clocks, not watching the money.

Back when I smoked and didn't have masters I always used to use captchas to dictate my smoke breaks. If I wanted a break, I would have to reach x amount of captchas first.

I don't think it's just that. That may have affected survey requesters for a bit, but that's not the only type of work that has declined on this platform. I think what's more likely is that it's the workers themselves that have run off the requesters. There are of course lots of exceptions (you all are wonderful people ), but I think there's plenty of evidence to suggest that the worker community as a whole is full of entitled brats that don't take their work as seriously as they should and harass requesters when they're not getting their way. It forces many requesters to have to pay for work that they probably can't use and I'm sure they realize in the long run that it's just not worth it for them to continue.
