Bringing a touch of England to the corner today

Did you know that modern tennis was born in England? It originated in Birmingham, a place of great history and a truly horrendous accent.

This has been a Peachy @Peachy related fact. Back in a bit, corner

Did you know that peaches were first brought to the United States from England in the early 17th century by a horticulturist called George Menefie? And thank goodness - American peaches are better than English peaches because England gets approximately zero sun.

Since I was told anything goes in this Corner, I'd like to talk about what "woke" means. It means you are aware of an injustice in society. Racism, ageism, body shaming, sexism. You know, the big issues bothering the world today. Being "woke" means you speak up when someone gets insulted for being the wrong color/sex/weight/age. It means you see there is an issue...not that you are the issue. No matter how many times you claim to be "woke" you cannot follow that with a bunch of misogynistic body shaming. Or just toss misogynistic junk out at all, which you seem very fond of. The closest thing to woke you are is a single angry little boy that happens to be awake.
And yes, I know. You are a popular member and I'm going to be told to leave if I don't like it. I'll see myself out. :eyeroll:

People actually believe this.

If someone claims to be "woke" (and they are being serious), I just start referring to them as a snowflake.

That'll show 'em. :cigar:

You don't think racism and sexism are problems in our society?
The person said "big issues".
I do think they are problems in general however my comment was more towards the ageism and body shaming aspects.

Obviously we're knee deep in politics here but yea I don't thing other people's feelings are on the high priorities of the world.

If I call someone in China fat, they're probably not even going to know what I'm saying.

Anyways, I would appreciate it if we could all drop last night's nonsense and today's aftermath and just move on. I'm sure we're all tired of devoting time to it.

And moving forward, I would appreciate if everyone could be a little more mindful of the stuff that they're posting here. Understand that shaming anyone, or insulting any type of person, based on race, gender, sexuality, image, religion, political views, etc is very frowned upon here. It's not the image that we want to project to the people that visit this forum. Re-read the guidelines if you must. It will be enforced.
