No interest in making this political, but seeing the cops testify today brought tears to my eyes. This was worse than my worst days in 29 years on the fire department, including spending 10 days at Ground Zero on Ohio Task Force 1, an urban search rescue team. My heart goes out to them - I can only barely imagine what they were going through. The thing that resonated with me was the one that said he had to get up on January 7 and go to work. That, my friend, is a true cop or firefighter. We do our job.
