checked the towns facebook page and the residents of the old folks home dressed up for Halloween (they posted a pic of one woman in her wheelchair). They hired dancers and TWO children came.
Two.
I'm so sad. I wish my daughter were younger I'd drag her over in costume today
my kid went to headstart at a nursing home - on Halloween they took 'em down the halls to go trick or treating - way cool!
The other thing I remember about Keegan's headstart was one day when I went to pick him up (my FD was pretty cool about him hanging around with the admin asst. when I was working). The teacher asked if she could see me and I thought "uh oh". She asked me if I was on FD, I said yes, wondering where it was going. She asked if I was taking any special classes, I said, I'm getting my LT certification for the Dayton regional Haz Mat team so I could run a hazmat scene when we responded.
She laughed and said that Keegan was proud of me and told everyone I was gonna be the boss of the Regional Asthma Response Team. She said she had no idea the childhood asthma problem was so bad that Dayton needed a regional response team to handle it.
Still get a chuckle out of it
