Out of curiosity, do you only contact the requester via mTurk or do you ever email them directly (like when they provide their email at the beginning of a survey)? I was recently rejected by a researcher conducting a survey with the reason being "Survey/MTurk ID not found in dataset" which is complete B.S. because I know I was super careful to complete everything correctly. Also, a bunch of other people on TO are having the same problem.

I contacted the Requester via the "Contact Requestor" link from the rejected HIT, but 2 weeks and no reply... So I'm thinking of contacting the Requester directly and cc'ing their institutional review board (IRB) since I actually have all of that information. Also, since I'm not the only one I figure that the IRB would like to know if she/he is stiffing research subjects out of promised money. Would that be overkill?

I'm new and still learning how to navigate all of this.
This may be helpful for you, particularly the part about contacting IRB: http://wiki.wearedynamo.org/index.php?title=Communication_with_requesters

Anyone else working the Holder's? Got a system down yet? Not sure if I'm slow because I'm exhausted or if they just suck.

I have only contacted through mturk, but I have not felt the need to contact them with their email provided. I have had a reply the majority of the time. I don't want to make anyone upset with me and then put a block on me for contacting them outside of mturk. I remember sometime back a guy just wouldn't give up contacting a requester who had rejected him and he was pretty relentless. It bordered on harassment. Not saying that is what you're talking about, but like Blue stated earlier some requesters don't care.

Since you're new just work on getting your numbers up so that when a rejection does come you will have the cushion for it. Always contact them politely and that's about all you can do. Sometimes they will reverse and sometimes they won't.

Are you talking about the stop sign hits? I just looked at one and it looked insane. If you don't have very good eyes you'll miss an alley or something...

I think in total I probably had like 150+ rejections out of 340,000 hits but as it stands I'm only at 67 because most are reversed on their own(mass automated rejections and errors). A good 40+ were probably deserved because I didn't properly read instructions and the rest were just hit and run requesters that know they weren't warranted but didn't stick around long enough to fix the issues. There were probably 2-3 that just simply refused to reverse them.
My favourite was the guy who rejected me with the reason that I hadn't provided a link (the one I clicked from the HIT to answer that, yes, it was the right link), then when I asked him about it, he said "I already deleted the dataset, but do another and I will bonus you a dollar, cos that was my bad." Oh, okay. Did another, messaged him. "I can't figure out how to bonus, OH WAIT, I DELETED THAT DATASET, TOO!"

I tried to do a few of these on...Sunday (I think?) and every time I shift+clicked for streetview I saw the inside of a building. It was not worth it.

Hope you all have a good night.

They went straight to my block list. The hits just annoyed me.

ScoutIt just doesn't have the same ring to it as Brelig does.
I'm sure he's smart enough to know that changing his name has no effect on his TO rating. He probably only changed it to confuse newer turkers when the name "Brelig" is used as a joke on forums.

They need to leave turk like crowdflower and get his own platform.... Hate them so much.
I wish Amazon's "improvements" would have included a Block Requester from View Option.
