Oh damn I almost didn't see that you have to say the phrase 10 times in a row. Holy crap I was a quarter of an atom's length from pressing submit.

I live in such a boring place, it's just burglaries and robberies around here.
I didn't find anything within a mile of our house, and then it was assault, assault, assault, other, assault, and I think one theft.

And those were where businesses are so whatev. Who knew memphis could be that boring >.>

I live directly across from a school. It bothers me how many offenders against children live in my neighborhood.... I mean its like 4 but what the fuck..
I live next to a school too and there's a guy who recently got charged with molesting a child who's apartment literally faces the school entrance. Like he can sit on his porch all day staring at the elementary children playing. WTF?! How is that legal?!!?

Thankfully, there's only one registered pedo anywhere near my area. There are a lot of rapes, however. :-/

My zip code lit up like a Christmas tree. Get me the hell out of here.
Figure out what we heard the other night about 3 streets over... a drive by shooting?! Looks like there's a random shooting almost every night within just like a 2-3 mile radius of my house! I guess that's what I get living in the city... and I'm glad I believe in owning guns. I dare them to try and shoot and me and my family! It will be the last time they try it!

I actually did a college paper on this. The laws concerning the zoning of school areas and sex offenders have issues at times where they clash. Some cities can't enforce the laws demanding a certain length from a school because it created an injustice against the person. In order for the law to be enforceable, housing has to be available and affordable in those areas away from schools. If not, they have to realign the distance from the school to make it easier for the offender to find housing.

Some cities are so small, they don't even have a way to enforce it and its illegal to force them to live elsewhere.

My main concern is the reason they are labeled a sex offender. I have a friend that was dating a girl in school that was a couple years younger than him and his parents hated him. They filed statutory rape charges against him and he has to register.

Don't think that my post is in support of sex offenders, most deserve the label. I am just trying to answer your question as to how someone can live that close.

Hell around here you can end up on the registry if you get caught taking a piss in a parking lot so I can understand that sentiment.

You're lucky... I just checked it for my area and OMG! Sex offenders are the majority of what I'm finding...

My daughter told me that some guy kept offering her a ride while she was walking to work. She told the guy no thanks but he bugged her for about a week. She's a cute girl and she was 18 at the time and I told her just to ignore him and don't take any short cuts and to stay on the main road. Dudes use to do that to me all the time when I was younger so I didn't think anything of it

I check the registry a few times a year and I saw one that had moved into our subdivision. When I showed her the pic her mouth dropped and she said, " Oh my god that's him". I asked if she was sure and she said it was and the guy had even told her his name was Gabe. Cops couldn't do anything since it was weeks ago and she was 18.. but she's still my little girl and this fucker is obviously a predator.

Always check and be aware of who lives near you

I live in Fort Myers, FL... there is plenty of affordable housing that's not literally across the street from the entrance of a school! That's BS! I do appreciate you trying to help answer my question, and I do understand what you're saying by there are a few that got the label unjustly... as parent and a teacher it infuriates me to know that a person with that label lives where he does. Like to the point I'm seriously thinking about contacting people and questioning it!
