It seems like most of the HITs geared towards minority groups in general pay pretty shit.

It's messed up and weird that so many requesters are specifically trying to find opinions from non-heterosexual/ non-white people, and think that the key to success is to pay LESS.

I think it can often be proof of a lack of funding. There will always be less money flowing into research for minority groups just because they're in the minority. A lot of the people running these studies just don't have much to work with, in terms of pay. I'll often participate in unpaid studies off mturk just because I feel like they could really use the help. But on mturk, I just nope the fuck out. It kinda sucks, though, because results from studies can often go a long way towards helping people that really need it.
