You'd think Amazon, with its essentially endless limit of money, would invest some of it to make mturk a little faster/better.

Maybe their approvals are throttled just like their batches.

That's kind of what I assumed. I wonder if Amazon has some sort of DDOS protection in place and A9 is just tripping that with all of these requests

oh, I don't do call HITs. our family plan doesn't have enough minutes for me to use them like that (5 of us share 1100 minutes/month) and I'm usually at work (with terrible cell phone service, I work in a basement) at this time of day. I'm telecommuting from home this week because my building's A/C is being worked on

my laptop doesn't have a microphone, I don't think. neither does my work computer. and most of the time there's another person or people in my office. this summer in about a month it'll be just me, but most of the day i share a huge office space.

google voice stops working for me after about 5-10 phone calls. it doesn't start working again for a few hours. I use my ipad but those apps don't work well.
