Yeah, sorry forgot to include that. If you dont deposit 15k into the account or have a mortgage with chase the accounts monthly fee is 25 dollars.

Correct. Still means you get $150.

Looking at it, you need a $25 a month free for 90 days, unless I'm reading it wrong.. Which still means $300 for $75

Edit: Nope, it's 6 months, so $150

Yeah, you get charged $25 "service fee" unless you have your mortgage tied in to it, or $15k....so you'll get $300 for the price of $150 because you can't close it for 6 months. But, you can get $300 now and just deposit the $25 each month to pay your "service fee" then close it 6 months later.

Which...to get my laptop fixed might actually be worth it.

I dont know if this was mentioned this past week but Chase is giving away a $300 bonus to anyone
who creates a checking account and deposits $25 bucks into the account. Its legit too, Ive already got my bonus.
Took like 5 or 6 days to post to my account.

It says there is a $25 monthly fee if you do not maintain a 15K daily balance or set up payments to your chase mortgage account. You have to keep it for 6 months or they take the bonus. You must also set up direct deposit. It is basically a $150 bonus, plus all the set up time. A good deal if one sees the effort as minimal.

The way I rationalized it in my head is I was already unhappy with my current bank so I'm willing to pay the service fees for $150 dollars.

$150 dollars is like 100 tacos from taco bell !

They don't manually check transactions - it all depends on what types of ACH deposits are correctly classified in their internal system. There's a whole part of the Doctor of Credit blog where people report in what types of transfers qualified for the "direct deposit."
