invest in one of those weird ancient things called an alarm clock...they're super cheap and work better than a phone. idk how many times i've set my alarm on my phone and for some reason it won't go off but my alarm clock is always there to save my ass

invest in one of those weird ancient things called an alarm clock...they're super cheap and work better than a phone. idk how many times i've set my alarm on my phone and for some reason it won't go off but my alarm clock is always there to save my ass

lint trap != dryer vent, usually people cleaning out dryer vents are also chimney sweeps, I used to be a chimney sweep/ wood burning appliance installer. Dryer vent cleaning was one of our biggest money makers and its pretty insane how much lint gets built up in the vent itself, most houses are built to have the dryer vent to the roof, but not a single dryer made is designed to push the lint vertically, so it builds up and basically turns into a tube of burnable material ready to blaze your house down. there were times were we pulled out a garbage bag full of lint along with squirrels, birds, wasps, bees etc

Stupid tidbit: The hotel we stayed at in Sighisoara, Romania had old-timey alarm clocks. Like those ones with the bells on the top. It didn't have any batteries in it, though, cuz batteries are a precious commodity in Romania (they get all the spent batteries from the rest of Europe, so their batteries never work).

Several fires each year due to clogged vents and it is hard to catch everything within just the removable vent. Just like getting a chimney cleaned by a pro once a year.

mine is kind-of easy since it's in a shed-like building at the back of my garage (and goes directly outside, it's just a few feet, really - and I can take it off without a ladder).
