"The problem is that some workers are committing fraud. One worker did over 400 HITs yesterday and used a "random name generator" to enter false data. Of course, I rejected all that work. What do I do if a worker enters names for 20% of the entries but the data show they spent 5 seconds on each one? My solution has been to find workers who are doing sloppy/fraudulent work and reject all their work. But I hear your feedback and I will see what I can do to try to deal with different cases differently. But it's hard to do that in a big project."

This is why we work from queue people. I mean if you do a hit in 5 seconds and scam it. I can script it in 5 seconds and all my work is correct we both don't deserve rejections.

It may be hard, but it's unethical to do otherwise. But... it sounds like he's reconsidering?

Scripting doesn't seem to be the issue.. or speed for that matter. Whoever [mod edit] decided to use a name generator should have known this would happen.

Plus his TO is effectively wrecked now, which will discourage people from working for him. That name generator fraud dude really screwed over a lot of people.

Sounds like he wasn't prepared for this at all. Yeah, I posted 40-50% of the HITs as no pastor for church or couldn't find the church listed, but that was after at least 30-40 seconds of deliberation. I wasn't careless at all with any of them.

i used to have that lofty $5/day goal. it became $25/day within two weeks and now i aim for $30/day bare minimum. anything about $50 and i'm basically a happy camper.

I used to do this full-time. Now I'm a 8-5'er! Mturk was used strictly for play. Now it's kinda coming back to being needed so I'm not dipping into my paychecks for a new computer that's not really necessary. Totally doable though, that's why I'm taking it on! :smilingimp:
