It's a duplex. Old hard wood, all the old wood work... I fell in love with it when I saw it. Nice neighborhood, balcony. I couldn't believe how cheap rent is here compared to the prices in Michigan.

If it makes you feel better, I have a neighbor who likes to hotbox it in her bathroom and it makes my bedroom reek of weed and it drives me insane. There's also a couple next door who likes to get drunk and yell at each other every other weekend. I'm pretty sure everyone on the block hates them.

My plan is to leave eventually. I wouldn't go to the south, though (being the type of person that many of those states like to make laws against). It's just difficult for me to just pick up and go somewhere, or even to plan a move like that, because I have issues that prevent me from working consistently, or sometimes functioning at all. But for the time being, I'm renting a room for $300/month, so I'm not bad off at all.

You might be able to afford to rent a bathroom here.
