It effectively lowers workers pay rates with the fee amazon is using for them.

It obviously costs money but it doesn't necessarily mean a pay reduction. I for one am not going to jump to conclusions. For one, it's not even relevant to most batches and if anything would be for surveys. So this probably isn't relevant to a good majority of people who don't even do the surveys. If anyone is reducing pay it's the workers who accept doing HITs with terrible pay.

Would having a poll for today about it help solve the mystery..? Maybe with these options: 1. Did profile taskamajig/getting captchas, 2. Did profiel taskamajig/no captchas, 3. no profile taskamajigs/getting captchas, 4. no profile taskamajigs/no captchas, 5. LULZ I'm Masters, 6. Wut?

Bottom line is requesters only have a finite budget. Mturk found a way to keep more of it on their side while using our data to do so.

I tell bill collectors I have a "finite budget", too. They don't care.

Yea no doubt, I just opened one to check it out and was surprised I had the qual.

That is what I have been asking. So far, everyone who did the profile tasks, does not have Captchas.
