Does your computer have a screen option on f4? I would try pressing that and it will give you options, to duplicate the screen or spread the screen.

f4 didn't work ahh

What OS are you on? I use windows and in the display settings there is a choice like "extend this screen" or "duplicate." Also make sure the TV input is set to HDMI.
