For me, the update was a couple weeks ago.
Google Chrome sometimes leaves the update pending for a long time.
(Using Settings/About to inquire about your version will provoke any pending update).

That's probably what caused my problems. I could not submit any hits. After 2 days of trial and error I had to create another google account.
