no, if your current account ever had prime you can't do it. The first year they did this 2 years ago, that worked, but last year they closed the loophole totally
But if your kids are on your Prime, you can gift it to them and they can activate it when yours expires...maybe?

I agree. The prices for household goods on Amazon is much better than the prices in stores around here, so even when you add on the Amazon Prime fee, I'm still saving money, especially combined with the gas to drive to the store and the time lost in doing so.
