THIS. The AP guy at my old store was super paranoid and suspicious of his own workers. I'd actually caught him a few times hiding behind aisles watching other employees while they made purchases.

Used to work as a team lead for Target and they were always so strict about that. Especially since people would use their discounts to buy gift cards first and then stack it on top of their ED trying to game the system. Just be sure you aren't present when making the purchase and just have her tell the other employee she's purchasing it from that it's for her. You wouldn't believe how many times people got in trouble for using their ED for someone who technically doesn't qualify for the discount.

Back when I worked for Gap, Inc. we weren't allowed to use giftcards and our employee discount at the same time (to avoid stacking).

They were pretty cool with the discounts. As long as the employee was right there showing their ID, they didn't care who paid for it. I would go shopping with my friends for their clothes and they were allowed to use my discount. I think Gap just wanted the business, lol!

But, no one could use the discount if the employee wasn't right there with their work ID. They were super strict about that.

Just before I left that job I bought hundreds of dollars in gift cards for future purchases. (My boss actually told me to do that, I would have never thought of it!) That's how I bought all of Son's clothes for the first year of his life. Baby Gap was my favorite place!
