I haven't received an email yet, but I'm assuming it was based on number of blocks. I've had 3 over the last couple of months. I did about 500 of the Hazy Researcher HITs today, and I guess they had blocked me as well.

Melissa - Masters categorization requester - Was testing a script and it didn't work, so I accidentally submit a ton of blank HITs
Aleksandra Kocheva - survey requester - Answered an attention check incorrectly, took the survey again and submit it. Totally deserved it.

I would say I've had 4-5 hard block emails this year

Anyone else not able to login to mturk on their phone or is it just me? I'm fine on my desktop but on my phone it just keeps redirecting me to a "your session has expired" page and I can't get to the login page.

That was the only batch I had worked on today/lately. The last rejection I had was in the middle of October. I'll just have to wait for their email to come in and see what I can do. @Tribune any tips?

I agree with @electrolyte -- go ahead and use the Contact Us webform to get the ball rolling.
Be polite and concise. (Be sure to keep a copy of what you say, since it's just a webform).

Do ask the reason for the suspension -- and don't be surprised if Amazon's eventual answer turns out to be inaccurate, or downright dishonest.

Be persistent. Even after Amazon admitted its error in my March 28 suspension, they didn't restore my worker account until fourteen hours after they claimed to have done so .. and it still took eight days for them to restore one of my requester accounts.



Just because Amazon's Mechanical Turk team does this stuff, every day, for a living, doesn't mean that they're good at it.

Anyone know if there is a way to see if a specific requester hard-blocked me WITHOUT trying to accepts one of their hits?

The reason I ask is I used copytext to clear over 1000 captcha's and never got the dreaded suspension threatening email everyone else did. I cant figure out why.

Just go to the preview of the hit, it will tell you.

Yes, if you are blocked there will be a message even when just trying to preview the hit. I have been checking copytext every day too, i used them all the time and did not get blocked either.
