I know there is probably a thread for learning to code. But, if anyone is wanting to learn to code, Coursera.org has a class starting on 12/12/16 called "Fundamentals in Computing", starting with "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python." It is normally a paid course but, financial aid(read:free) is available, for those in need. I'm taking it, since it's been over 20yrs since I got out of school. Codeacademy is great but, this class is good for people who benefit from a more structured setting. Let me know if you sign up. We can struggle together. :)

I wasn't sure honestly - I saw a lot of people using TM, it seemed like when I was running 3-4 panda's my PRE was out of this word. - I haven't tested it yet with Z's though
even if you used different computers to run the same mturk account, you would still get PREs by having your own account check X amount of times per second or whatever

Look for hits by SLS-3, they test their coursera course under that requester name. If you do any coding at all the sls3's are really worthwhile hits to do. I know no python and did well on their hits.

Really? Maybe it doesn't seem that much to me since it doesn't have a counter for it. What do you find words better?
I don't use either tool, but I have used them in the past. PC is by far the better of the two and the only thing TM has that PC doesn't is the ability to have different things scan on different timers, but if you do 2 or more there's a chance that doesn't matter depending on the speeds.

It seems to be different for different people? I can run several PANDAs in TM without any problems but just 2-3 in PC and MTurk was completely unusable for me because of so many PREs.
Have you tried using a lower interval on PC to mimic TM better? TM's 1s isn't a true 1s, its slower than that. (Same goes for any other interval)

I messed with it a little but honestly, it was so frustrating that I couldn't get even my dashboard to open without a PRE that I gave up pretty quickly.

Hmm, that sounds horrible. I dunno how long ago this was but it could have been a bug because what you described I've never heard from anyone else.

Does anyone have the HIT for week 5 for the "Years of Living Dangerously" still in queue? If so, could you pm me the link to the survey? I accidentally submitted without doing the study and am trying to prevent a rejection. Thanks in advance. :)

Could be. This was like the first week or so it was public.

I'd say it was likely a bug. I've messed up a few times on scripts that scrape where they don't overwrite the old timeout and I end up with something that's scraping mturk 5x more often than it should be.
