Oh thank god, no rejection from CMU. I was sweating since I did like 250 combined. They even left me some comments saying I missed stuff, but didn't reject. Good luck to you all, I hope this gets fixed for everyone. Stressful Sunday

Just want to put it out there for anyone contacting requesters today regarding rejections: You catch a lot more flies with honey, so remember to be professional in your communications with requesters. I've seen requesters who received a lot of negative feedback that was put in a polite/inquisitive way do the right thing and reverse rejections, and others who received masses of angry emails abandon mturk altogether. (That latter group has not always been the bad requesters, but ones who were scared off by bitchforking turkers. There are of course exceptions to both rules.)

Anyhoo, I'm not anyone's Mama (on here) but I do just want to toss out a word of caution. I recommend contacting CMU, Tobias, and whoever any time a rejection is received. Just...be cool about it, and maybe they'll make things right. That's all, yo.

That's really weird that they'd leave you comments saying you missed stuff but not reject, and then reject other people for the same thing. Maybe they have multiple people reviewing who are responding differently?

Bitchforking I enjoy this verb.

They gave me 39 rejections from the ones yesterday. Sent an email early this morning but, nothing so far. I was going to give them a day before I said anything or left TO
I am totally floored how I could have done them wrong. I'm glad you sent an email as well. The TO for him looks good so that makes it even more perplexing.

Sounds like it. Maybe an assistant who is helping with spot checking or something.

To add to that, it's not uncommon for requesters to think that rejecting HITs is what is normally done and acceptable. Amazon even suggests using rejections as a method to "train" workers how to do your HITs correctly. So if they're going off that kind of advice and don't know much about how the worker side of things works, they may just be completely oblivious rather than malicious.

Ugh. I just got 5 rejections from Tobias Faulk. (Judge the importance of 5 statements for a given topic) They were .06 hits and all five I did were rejected. I am seriously trying to figure out what I could have done wrong. I sent an email. Hopefully will hear back. Glad I only did 5. Think it's time to take a break, this is the most rejections I have ever gotten all at once. Ugh:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:. This brings my total rejections up to 10. I am stressing out.
omg that has me stressing I did hundred at least... if it was not related did you leave it in order?

I agree. I thought it was sad that a requester actually thanked me for not being a douche.

"Hey Jeremy, yes, I'll be glad to do a dummy hit for you tomorrow to bonus you.
You were able to submit your feedback though?
Thanks for the kind tone. Sometimes turkers get quite pissed when something goes wrong!

Thanks
Stuart"

I think this might be the case. The wording was different (three times over) for the rejections I received.

Thankies. I coined it back at [redacted] when there was a requester that caused the day's thread to almost literally combust with hatred. Was a new requester who'd made an innocent mistake, and a lot of people were sending angry messages.

Not saying anyone is today, but the term has stuck with me, so now it's a Thing.

I sent them a followup email apologizing for being rude, all of y'all made good points, I'm pissed but they probably thought it was a normal thing to do. And at the end of the day, 10 rejections is only gonna dip my rating a tiny tiny amount.
