My husband quit about 11 yrs ago, and has been chewing nicorette ever since. I don't really understand that. but better than smoking I suppose. I also couldn't really understand why he started as his mom died of lung cancer when he was 14.

everyone has their own reasons for smoking. I started in college and continued through even after both my parents and 3 siblings all quit years ago. Mine was simple.. i didn't give a flip about quitting. LOL there's that must be smoker survey again. I don't understand the nicorette or vaping or any of that.. the addiction to nicotine still has a hold on anyone doing either of those things or using a patch. It has always seemed to be a cheat to me. My brother vapes and i swear he uses that thing more frequently that he would've smoked.

Same. CJ smokes a carton a week of the 100s, and has been smoking since he was like 14. I don't wanna know what it's done to his poor lungs.

I'm not a doctor but (heh doctor butt) I think nicorette or vaping, or patches or whatnot are less harmful than smoking.

Smoking is bad. Gum/Patches/Vaping(I don't know about this one) are less bad.

My mum repeatedly swears that my husband will find quitting easier if he gets a vape. Meanwhile she's had the thing for 4 years and smokes inside outside morning noon and night. Way more than she ever did with cigarettes. There's no easy fix or we'd all already have done it.
