Try and send a politely worded message asking about feedback regarding the rejection and if it's possible to get it reversed. Sometimes requesters are responsive, other times you are out of luck which is why padding can be important

Oh I always write requesters when I get a reject. I only have 3 rejections out of 75,000 approved. If I didn't contact every requester I'd probably have at least 25 or 30.
