If you work from home (not sure about your situation) you can buy a house at a small town/country area. As long as the area has internet your cost of living will be cheap. I noticed some of you guys live in big cities where the prices are all jacked up when you don't have to.

The median house price in my under 2k population town which is an hour away from a "big city" is $400,000.

A lot of places with truly low cost of living are unpleasant places to live, regardless of city life or country life.
