These are actually pretty easy once you get it figured out. I contacted the requester about the part where it says did the manager address the concerns and basically got the reply back that they are using this to detect boilerplate responses. Once I got that feedback, these became pretty easy. If you get a long one skip it. A lot of the reviews are only 3-5 sentences.

I don't recall how long it takes to validate your account. I made mine a couple years ago and have only used it in down times until recently. Those demo surveys determine your eligibility for studies I believe. I don't think they use number of prior completions like mturk does. I honestly do not know a ton about it though so I could be wrong. Someone else here will probably be able to give you better answers. Sorry :/

I signed up for prolific yesterday, does it take a while to for them to validate your account? It keeps having me take the demonstration survey. Do they have pre-quals to take certain survey's like on mturk? (50 completed or 500 completed) I tried joining this study and it said it wasn't available to me.

Did you go to the prescreening tab? As you enter info more things will pop up there that will qual you for surveys.

I would say 50 total, just because it says to ignore that you can only do 10 on the inside (paraphrasing his words) but he's been pretty responsive to my questions and answered within an hour or so both times I emailed him.

If I had to guess, this guy either works for TripAdvisor (some reviews say thank you for leaving a review here) or is using the reviews as some kind of computer learning to detect them, as the requesters email is attached to an .edu
