I feel like at that age 3 years means almost nothing.

I agree. Even 16 and 19 doesn't sound bad to me.

Now 13 and 16, I think those are formative ages and I wouldn't want my girls dating at that age....but any older than that and I don't really see a problem.

Agreed. I'd still be a little iffy on the 16/19 but it would be completely dependent on the maturity of the 16 and 19-year-olds.

But that's not really here nor there.

The "rule" I was taught as far as being socially acceptable was half your age plus 7 years but honestly all that matters is the maturity level of the people in the relationship. As long as it works for them who cares?
