I wouldn't judge a position on how happy the people occupying that position seem to be. One thing about people, that seems especially true in retail, is that many will always find a reason to complain or hate their job no matter what the conditions are.

Whatever department you're in, just find things about the job that you enjoy and try to focus on those things. I've found a lot of enjoyment in cashier jobs, even. As shy and introverted as I am, I surprisingly really like dealing with customers, so I could always have fun with that sort of stuff while everyone around me acted like they were miserable.

True, any job is what you make it. I know I was complaining a lot about my office job, and I started working at WalMart, and didn't know how good I have it. I kind of enjoyed bagging groceries last week and got to meet customers, They were all nice and no one was grumpy. I even learned a trick to put an 8 pack of bottles, on the railing of the cart. Never even thought of that before I saw a customer doing it.

apparently cashiers aren't supposed to confront a shoplifter. What is a bob? That's good that cashiers don't have to count the money. I was afraid that was part of our job.

You're not, but making them move coats/purses etc while in line is part of the job. People use kids (the lady i followed stuck make up under her daughter in the hardware department). BOB - Bottom of basket.

Well don't have to be to work till 9 tomorrow, so can sleep in till 6. The Wal Mart is less then half the distance I have to drive to my day job, so that's really nice. Gonna go watch some more Jane the virgin.
