Where do you live that rent is $300? That's less than 1/4 of what mine is every month. If you're already paying $300/month to share a room it would probably make you happier to live somewhere on your own. Is it possible for you and your bf to save for a car? Or to use public transportation?

I own the house next door to me. We are in the middle of nowhere. The most I have been able to get for rent on it is $600 a month and since the previous tenant trashed it, we were giving the lady that is in it now $150 a month off the rent to just do some work on it and show us what she had done. I am evicting her because she never even finished paying her first month's rent.

It's 4 bedrooms, 2 fulls baths, kitchen, dining room, living room, screened in back porch with washer and dryer on 2.5 acres. 2100 square feet with amazing 130 year old hardwood floors thru the whole thing. $600. WTF?

Boyfriend and I checked out an apartment on our way home today. It's $300/month and deposit. Two doors down from his sister's friend who just moved out of our house. We live with his sister now and so far she's pretty much our only ride. His sister's friend just had her car repossessed so she's out. But ugh, I want it. I can't live in this house anymore. But I pay his sister $300 a month to share a room with her children and I can't do it anymore. Advice pls rn it's solely my work income and mturk income and while I can afford $300 rent not sure if I can come up with a deposit yet. And there's the issue of not having a ride to work

Without knowing any more of your situation, I think $300/month is very realistic on Mturk. And I share a home (a very small one) with my own two children, and as much as I love them, I cannot imagine being confined in one room with them for any period of time, so that apartment sounds like a decent option. I live in Central IL, and my house payment (mortgage) is only $300. I'm making do as a SAHM thanks to Mturk and two paid off/beater vehicles. Best of luck to you!

it's insane here. i was thinking about moving closer to houston. only concern is safety and cost

safety is relative. youre probably more likely to be a target living close to that mall and that general area.
