I totally agree, cashiers are way underpaid for the shit they have to put up with. At least I don't have to work their long. I cut my hours to 16 hours a week. I hate it there. I am going to be looking for other part time work, however it is really hard to find something is a small town. There is a lot more part time work in Stevens Point (where my day job is), but it's also about 40 miles from my house. I'm thinking of applying to Menards anyway, they get paid $12/hour on weekends I hear and they don't have to bag groceries.I think it's an excuse for them if them employee is lacking. If someone isn't doing their shit and then calls in a few times they have their automatic grounds to can someone. They have a hard time keeping employees so if you're good and get sick I'm sure they'll over look it.
I personally didn't stick around long enough to find out because I thought I was way underpaid for the job. I didn't think I should be in charge of doing WIC checks, add matching and keeping a balanced drawer and be paid the same amount as the door greeter.
