for real that is not okay. I had to work all the time in high school up to age 21. maybe I can call them.

I'm no expert and this is only based off of what I can remember when I looked into this a few years ago but there may be exclusions that you might be able to apply for. I know that people can qualify if they have special circumstances such as disability or or other family members being unable to work. You're best bet is to call and double check.

But, I'm pretty sure they didn't take Social Security tax from you before you were 21. That's why you don't get "points" for that time. You would have to have tax info/pay stubs to see if you were paying in at that point but, I wouldn't think so.
