Yeah, its bunkers around here right now. The only time I've seen it anywhere close to this bad was 9/11, but that was a immediate crisis response and not a scheduled list with closures that are announced at least 24-48 hours in advance. While there's always a restricted area that you can't drive and/or walk, it's never been such a large area and for such a long time. Usually most bridges are open (for both incoming/outgoing traffic) and most transit stations are open - though some are entry or exit only depending if the Inauguration is starting or if its over. Many more stations are closed and for several days as well, including several major downtown transfer points and Union Station which is by far the most used station (due to it being serviced by commuter trains, MegaBus, and Amtrak).
