Unless they audit you which is very unlikely, They usually only audit rich people trying to avoid taxes. Us turkers wont be setting off any red flags at the IRS.

this is awful advice. please don't advise people not to pay taxes on their mturk income.

edit: if you don't want to pay taxes on your mturk income, fine, i don't care. but PLEASE do not advise others not to do that.

The Amazon RVD text to speech hits are total crap now. I mean they wasn't that good before but now they are just plain slave wage. I wouldnt even recommend them for numbers because they are paying 2 cents now for 30 seconds of audio that you have to play twice. Going to change mt TO rating on them.

Question for anyone using PC. I'm on OSX using the newest version of Chrome. Ever since I began using PC, when it caught a HIT I would get a little notification that would slide onto the screen, telling me the HIT info, and then it would go away. It was a nice tool, as when I had PC muted, it would visibly show me that I had a new HIT in the queue. I've noticed over this month sometime, I lost that ability. I cannot seem to find PC or mturk blocked in my notification settings in chrome, so I'm not sure where to go to re-configure this. I never got a prompt asking me to allow or block notifications after updating PC, etc.

This happened to me about a week ago, but then the notifications came back. I think I updated Panda Crazy in the meantime. Other than that I didn't do anything. Which is probably not super helpful, but you're not the only one!

This happened to me about a week ago, but then the notifications came back. I think I updated Panda Crazy in the meantime. Other than that I didn't do anything. Which is probably not super helpful, but you're not the only one!

Well, I'll probably stop searching for the day trying to figure this out, knowing I'm not alone. That's helpful in and of itself. I did go to the Chrome notification settings and add the new PC URL to the allow list, but no dice. Maybe it'll just start working at some point for me too!

Yup. I know but, thanks. Regardless, I wasn't aware of the ability to accept a HIT for which you are missing a qualification.

Let me try it another way.
Are you, personally, able to "grab hit" if you have a "Requirement not met" status on a qualification required for the HIT, in the HIT details?

Sure that's when they tell you to leave. But if you don't have the qual that they request up front it won't likely let you in. If you have those quals you can get in but you may still get kicked out because they didn't tell you they wanted 25 -35 or male/female of sexual factor as in how you relate or whatever. They have lots of little tricks.
