I'm so glad I live where I do! I ate three avocados this week that I picked up off the ground from under the avocado tree. And I have more free walnuts and almonds (gifts for the holidays) than I can bake up in a year.

But, the rest of it is still super spendy for me. And the kid adores milk and cheese and yogurt so $$$$$!

I got a yogurt maker on a sale. I haven't used it yet. also I have a recipe to make cheese but I haven't tried it yet. trying to put things together to lower food costs.

Nice1 on the yogurt maker! I use the stove to boil the milk and then set it in the oven using the oven light, it's definitely cheaper but also time-consuming. A yogurt maker should be way easier!

That really sucks when you miss a big batch because you weren't paying attention and you didn't have HF or PC turned on and you didn't want to work and if you had seen the batch you wouldn't have done it anyway.
