It's possible to get the tolerance down, but it requires having the time for three-day-long blinding impossible headaches that leave you basically useless (if you do it cold turkey, anyway.) I did it back then because it was pretty clear I had to do something, but oh god do I hope I never have to again.
But yeah, you're right, enough on that.

I did it when I found out I was pregnant. I figured 8 shots of espresso a day and multiple Redbulls were not good for a developing baby. Thankfully, people expect pregnant women to be tired (and oh God I was tired)!

omg I can't imagine the headaches coming off all that. I was drinking a pot and a half to two pots of coffee a day when I found out I was pregnant. Quit cold turkey, that was bad enough.

I'm pretty sure the survey I just took was to just ask/get answers for a single question.

That's a good reason. I mainly just did it because I got to the point where 4 caffeine pills plus multiple drinks were barely enough to keep me awake through a normal 8 hour work shift, and I was scared I was probably melting my kidneys or something. (it honestly didn't occur to me to think of my heart, dumb kid)

Surprisingly I don't remember having much of a headache, but I might have slept through them.

first kid - quit cold turkey
second kid - nope still having my cup of coffee every morning

people like to put overly cautious restrictions on women at a time when they are emotionally vulnerable

My mother ,smoked, drank, and dropped me on my head about 4 or 5 times , all while consuming prodigious amounts of coffee and coke and I turned out fine.

P.S. as I am swamped by errands today; I got a nice e-mail from KtotheFourth Research (language learning HIT from yesterday), there was an issue with some of the HITs not progressing, they're fixing it and the fixed HIT will be back up soonish.

So keep an eye out, that one will be coming back.

You can still have coffee, but I think the high-recommended amount of caffeine is like 200mg/day.
I wouldn't drink coffee or any alcohol at all for that matter. American doctors can tell you that a small amount is fine. But in many parts of Europe, there is zero tolerance.

Both of my midwives said to cut down, not go cold turkey b/c it's easier on your bodies, and only massive amounts of caffine are harmful in reality. (So like, my whole pot or so wasn't a good idea...but neither was none.)
Mommy-shaming just sometimes hits the medical world too.

Yes!! It's hard to find feedback in a sea of batch or penny hits, too so I almost never check except in the event of a rejection.
Maybe some one should use that contact address we got about our weekly reports, make such a suggestion, and see if anything happens? Maybe?

But.....did you REALLY turn out fine?
Disgustingly healthy, I had a perfect attendance record through 12 years of schooling (unfortunately), Despite my many and varied efforts to kill myself with bicycles, guns and and other appliances around the house.
