3000 is high imo, but it really depends on what else you have running. The best thing to do is lower it little by little until you start getting a bunch of PREs. That's what I did to find my sweet spot.

edit: also for me, it depends on what I'm doing. If I'm at my computer, I have my HF lower and HC higher. When I'm walking away from the computer, I switch it since I won't be there to catch anything off of HF and HC will be the only thing doing work for me at the time. Hope that makes sense.
