Kids instinctively know how to use iPads and smartphones, you give them a screen and they start touching it and once they see it reacts to their touch they pick up on it right away. I've heard that many kids are confused when they see a tv or a desktop computer and nothing happens when you touch the screen. Don't know how good it's for their brain and the science behind that, but I think it's pretty much a given most kids are going to grow up using touch screen devices since an early age now.
