It's different from Christmas/holiday break...and it's the deep South, this practically our only week of winter this year anyway

Maybe not! Some banks keep charges set as pending on holidays like this. My bank does, and what I would spend stays as pending til the next business day.

You shouldn't have. Your bank should clear all deposits before and purchases and since they are on holiday, none of the items will clear until tomorrow morning. Otherwise, call your bank because they are doing it wrong.

that should never happen....build an emergency fund or at least have some extra in your checking account at all times. pay everything with CC's, then pay that balance in full each month and never worry about over drafts again

yeah everything is still showing as pending. I just have a automatic withdrawal coming and I spent some of the money for it because I knew thought an Amazon deposit was coming. still no withdrawal, though, so maybe I'm okay...
